![]() ![]() As a general rule of thumb, there should always be some factory producing units at all points of the game, and a turtle is no exception. At the start of the game, the player needs to work out if they are going to be attacked early. An artillery turtle requires significant research and defensive structures. Mobile missile launchers are required to prevent enemy turrets creating a defensive line, and demolisher artillery is recommended if the player doesn't plan on pursuing the mass conversion path for potential mid-late game.Įmploying the UEF's wide range of artillery options, a player is able to simply bombard enemy players into the ground without actually setting foot into their base. The ACU's role is to build turrets during battle to solidify the push, and additional land factories at the front to quickly replenish lost forces. Encountering an enemy army with a defending ACU will generally spell defeat unless the army is significantly smaller than the offender's. It is important that the ACU travels with the army. After each land factory is complete, it should be queued with the desired units set to repeat. The build order starting out should comprise of no more than 3-5 power stations, no more than 1-2 research stations, and no less than 3 land factories. Therefore, one of the first buildings that should always be built by any player in SupCom2 is a radar installation. It would do you no good to spend your initial resources on the construction of 20 rockheads and mobile missile launchers only to meet a force of enemy fighter/bombers or gunships. The premise is to assassinate the ACU using superior numbers of ground troops early in the game to quickly position units to undermine an opponent's economy or to simply overwhelm the enemy military with superior land military of your own early in the game.Ī land rush, as with all strategies, should only be dedicated to by an player with intel. For example, an air attack against a player who was planning to build anti-air but has not built them as yet is considered an air based rush.Ī 'Land rush' is the most common strategy used by players in general for small maps. For this reason, competitive UEF strategies seek to optimise positional and unit count advantages as early in the game as possible.Ĭommon strategies used in competitive play įor the sake of definitions, a rush is a tactic that seeks to be most effective due to a lack of preparedness on the opponents part in the construction of a specific countering to it. Army composition is therefore more likely to be weaker for UEF in any given army vs army encounter against a non UEF race the longer the game persists. This is in part due to the lack of convincing late game experimentals that can be fielded by the UEF. UEF is commonly regarded as stronger in the early-mid game as opposed to end game relative to the other races. Supreme Commander 2 has varied and flexible methods for winning as any of the three races. 2 Common strategies used in competitive play.oh and one more thing, i DO use the super units, such as the t-rex and that crab thing. but it still takes him at least another hour to wipe off the rest of my back up bases across the map (there is almost no fail to this startegy). The only way i seem to be beat is by this one player who has this exploit where he can get as much money as he needs (through this harvesting thing) then he proceeds to spam nukes. second, i litterly ditched normal land units all together becasue of how good these things are compared to the normal units, they are even a cheaper investment becasue you dont even NEED A LAND UNIT BASE, all you need is an air facility. I know, it sounds incredible, but some could actually not fall for this cheap trick, especially if you don't add any ADVs to the mix.įirst off, i last played this game in 2016. And as the engineers have to stand still in order to repair each other, they can just take out that army from afar before the even barely get close.
